Brussels Airport said in a statement<\/a> that the attack meant that only manual check-in and boarding were possible there, and the incident was having a \u201clarge impact\u201d on flight schedules.<\/p>\n \u201cThere was a cyberattack on Friday night, 19 September, against the service provider for the check-in and boarding systems affecting several European airports, including Brussels Airport,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n Authorities at Berlin\u2019s Brandenburg Airport said a service provider for passenger handling systems was attacked on Friday evening, prompting airport operators to cut off connections to the systems.<\/p>\n Europe\u2019s busiest airport, London Heathrow, called it \u201ca technical issue\u201d that affected a service provider for check-in and boarding systems. More about the affected service provider<\/p>\n Collins Aerospace was formed in 2018 and is a US aviation and defence technology company and a subsidiary of RTX Corp., which was formerly Raytheon Technologies.<\/p>\n The company’s system doesn\u2019t offer direct check-in for passengers but provides technology that allows passengers to check themselves in, print boarding passes and bag tags, and dispatch their own luggage, all from a kiosk.<\/p>\n “We have become aware of a cyber-related disruption to our MUSE software in select airports.
