The event shines a light on the diverse communities that make up Liverpool, and the values of unity that define it.<\/p>\n<p>With the ceremony falling on St George\u2019s Day, a date traditionally associated with English identity, it becomes an even more symbolic moment, highlighting the evolving story of modern Britain and Liverpool\u2019s proud tradition as a welcoming city.<\/p>\n<p>As Liverpool continues to welcome people from all over the world, this event stands as a powerful symbol of what it means to belong \u2014 and what it means to be a Liverpudlian.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Councillor Laura Robertson-Collins, Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods, said:<\/strong> \u201cThis is what Liverpool is all about, a city that welcomes, embraces and celebrates the people who choose to call it home.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese ceremonies are powerful reminders of the strength we gain from our diversity and I\u2019m incredibly proud that so many people are becoming citizens right here, in the heart of Liverpool, on such a symbolic day.\u201c<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr Mqhreen Aleem, one of the new citizens, shared what the moment means to them: <\/strong>\u201cThis day means everything to me.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve worked hard to build a life here, and becoming a British citizen in Liverpool \u2014 in such a beautiful place, on St George\u2019s Day \u2014 feels like a true beginning.
