Winner of Best New Play at the 2025 Olivier Awards, Giant<\/a><\/strong> is transferring into the West End following a sold-out Royal Court Theatre season, directed by Nicholas Hytner.<\/p>\n

Mark Rosenblatt\u2019s new drama is playing at the West End\u2019s Harold Pinter Theatre from 26 April to 2 August 2025.<\/p>\n

New in are behind-the-scenes rehearsal photos for the show, which stars 2025 Olivier Award-winner John Lithgow<\/a><\/strong> (3rd Rock From the Sun), as author Roald Dahl.<\/p>\n

Giant also stars Aya Cash<\/a><\/strong> (The Boys, The Franchise, You\u2019re the Worst) making her West End debut as US Publisher Jessie Stone.<\/p>\n

The cast also features 2025 Olivier Award-winner Elliot Levey<\/a><\/strong> (Cold War, Patriots, Good) as Tom Maschler, Dahl\u2019s British Jewish Publisher; Olivier Award-nominee Rachael Stirling<\/strong> (The Divine Mrs S) as Felicity Crosland, Roald Dahl\u2019s fianc\u00e9e; Tessa Bonham Jones<\/strong> (Dune: Prophecy, The Young Woman and the Sea) as Hallie; and Richard Hope<\/strong> (Hijack) as Wally Saunders, Dahl\u2019s handyman \u2013 all reprising their roles from the Royal Court.<\/p>\n

Written by Mark Rosenblatt, Giant is directed by Nicholas Hytner. The creative team also includes design by Bob Crowley, lighting design by Anna Watson, and sound design by Alexandra Faye Braithwaite. Casting is by Arthur Carrington, with general management by Short Street Productions, and the executive producer is Mark Rubinstein.<\/p>\n

Inspired by true events, Mark Rosenblatt\u2019s drama Giant delves into the thin line between thoughtful discourse and harmful rhetoric. Blending dark humour with sharp insight, the play paints a complex portrait of Roald Dahl, a dangerously charismatic figure, examining the consequences of inflammatory public statements and the impact of antisemitic remarks in the media.<\/p>\n

The Royal Court production ran from 20 September to 16 November 2024 and enjoyed great reviews<\/a> from London\u2019s theatre critics for its Royal Court run.<\/p>\n

There are rumours that Giant may also be heading to Broadway<\/a>, with John Lithgow revealing the ambition in a recent interview.<\/p>\n

Giant is produced in the West End by Brian and Dayna Lee, Stephanie Kramer and Nicole Kramer, Josh Fiedler, and Robyn Goodman.<\/p>\n
