{"id":439645,"date":"2025-09-20T23:39:42","date_gmt":"2025-09-20T23:39:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/439645\/"},"modified":"2025-09-20T23:39:42","modified_gmt":"2025-09-20T23:39:42","slug":"drinks-ice-cream-and-bargains-bring-people-together-in-armley","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/439645\/","title":{"rendered":"Drinks, ice cream and bargains bring people together in Armley"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"has-text-align-right\"><strong>By Andy Dalton<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Free ice creams, complimentary teas, coffees and soft drinks are on offer to visitors to the Late Summer Open Afternoonat the Leeds City Mission Compassion Centre on Saturday (20 September)<\/p>\n<p>Leeds\u00a0City Mission is hoping to make the most of the last of the summer sunshine with a social event, which runs 2.30pm-4pm.<\/p>\n<p>They are throwing open their doors at their premises in Mistress Lane (end of Town Street) in Armley to visitors.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"900\" height=\"594\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Screenshot-2025-01-02-at-08.50.57-900x594.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-168974\"  \/>Leeds City Mission in Mistress Lane, Armley.  Photo: Andy Dalton<\/p>\n<p>The social event and sale will have tables displaying a wide selection of greetings cards.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>There will be also be a hybrid\u00a0pop up charity shop for the afternoon featuring bric a brac and clothes.\u00a0All monies raised will go towards the various compassion projects undertaken by the City Mission amongst needy people in\u00a0West\u00a0Leeds.<\/p>\n<p>Leeds\u00a0City Mission Compassion Centre Manager Sinclair Martin explained that the City Mission Compassion Centre in Mistress Lane is becoming a popular destination for local people.
