banned left and right turns<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">Bristol Road (A38)\/ Priory Road (B4217) (city centre) &#8211; banned left and right turns<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">Kingsbury Road\/Gravelly Hill (A5127) (Erdington) &#8211; banned right turn<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"birminghammail\"><a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/newsletter-preference-centre\/?view=Solus&amp;mailingListId=2e93e5e5-fc2a-4503-a444-967922eae47a&amp;utm_source=solusarticle\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"[object Object]Link opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">Get all the latest motoring news sent to your inbox by signing up to our new newsletter here<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"birminghammail\">Signage is going up at the locations in an effort to give Brummies plenty of advance warning about the cameras going live.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"birminghammail\">There will be a period of testing before enforcement begins.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"birminghammail\">Warnings may be issued early on rather than financial penalties as motorists get used to the system &#8211; though the rules should never be broken anyway so offenders have no excuse.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"birminghammail\">Cllr Majid Mahmood, transport boss at the city council, said: \u201cThese new powers will help to make our roads safer by reducing dangerous driving behaviours like making banned turns and ignoring no-entry signs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"birminghammail\">&#8220;It will also allow for more effective local control over traffic flow and safety.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"birminghammail\">&#8220;When enforcement action does begin, our focus will be on education.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"birminghammail\">&#8220;New signage and road markings give motorists the opportunity to adjust their behaviour.
