A thug left his partner \u2018petrified and covered in blood\u2019 after demanding her to delete her social media accounts.<\/p>\n

Daniel Stevens, 36, and the woman had travelled from Leeds to Manchester for a \u2018pleasant evening out\u2019 together before a stay in the Hilton hotel.<\/p>\n

Before leaving the room an argument broke out over \u2018something and nothing\u2019. But later, when they returned, things quickly became violent.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou became angry when she refused to go along with what you wanted her to do, which was to delete her social media account,\u201d said sentencing judge Suzanne Goddard KC.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe tried to leave and call security, you grabbed her by the hair and ripped her hair extensions out, you grabbed her neck and squeezed so she couldn\u2019t breathe. She must have been absolutely petrified that was happening.\u201d<\/p>\n

Manchester Crown Court<\/a> heard that he then threw the woman, causing her to fall into the TV before picking up a glass perfume bottle and hitting her over the head with it.<\/p>\n

He then punched her in the face so hard it left her unable to properly move her jaw.<\/p>\n

The woman was able to make it out of the room and got to the lift before collapsing. She was found by the hotel\u2019s security guard \u2018covered in blood\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou were standing there not trying to assist her, but trying to get to the lift to get away. You were aggressive towards him, shouting and swearing at him,\u201d said the judge.<\/p>\n

Stevens then punched him in the face causing damage to his eye and cheek, then whispered threats into his partner\u2019s ear as she lay on the ground.<\/p>\n

Emergency services quickly attended, during which Stevens was heard shouting at the security guard words to the effect of \u2018go back to your own country\u2019.<\/p>\n

In a victim impact statement, the woman was clearly extremely upset and distressed, the court heard.<\/p>\n

Stevens was said to have 29 previous convictions for 68 offences going back to 2001. These included criminal damage, section 18 wounding, affray, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, breach of a restraining order and assaulting a police officer.<\/p>\n

Judge Goddard KC said no amount of prison or intervention from the courts has seen him addressing his \u2018personality issues, mental health issues or substance abuse\u2019.<\/p>\n

She said his only mitigation was his early guilty plea but had experienced past trauma including the loss of a child.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut none of that is an excuse,\u201d she said to Stevens, who wept with his head on the table over videolink from prison.<\/p>\n
