Flood warnings and alerts remain in place across Greater Manchester on Sunday morning after the region was battered by hours of torrential rain on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Flood warnings are issued by the Environment Agency when flooding is ‘expected’. Alerts are issued when the risk of an area flooding is deemed to be possible.<\/p>\n
As of Sunday morning, nine flood warnings are in place, together with five flood alerts.<\/p>\n
The situation, said the Environment Agency, would be monitored throughout the day although with the rain having stopped, water levels are said to be stabilising or dropping at a number of the locations.<\/p>\n
