The Premier League table makes for pleasurable reading if you are of a Leeds United persuasion on Sunday morning. Daniel Farke\u2019s side sit in a very comfortable 11th after five matches.<\/strong><\/p>\n

There is, of course, a very long way to go. But Leeds<\/a> have seven points from five, ahead of the curve when it comes to what is required to obtain safety. A point a game was Daniel Farke\u2019s<\/a> aim in pre-season.<\/p>\n

But the win at Wolves was more encouraging than just securing three points. That was the prize, but more long-term Leeds concerns were put to bed. That is the belief of striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin<\/a>, anyway.<\/p>\n

Leeds scored their first goals from open play this season, they proved they could do it away from home in the Premier League<\/a>, and it came against a side that are expected to be right at the bottom next season.<\/p>\n

Anton Stach was bought for \u00a319.9m<\/a> and has made a good start, while Noah Okafor got his first goal after his \u00a318m arrival. But according to one pundit, Calvert-Lewin<\/a> has the potential to be a \u00a350m or \u00a360m star.<\/p>\n

Speaking to BBC Radio Leeds<\/a>, 1992-93 title winner Jon Newsome<\/a> said that if Leeds can keep fit and get the striker firing, England international Calvert-Lewin can be considered as a player worth north of \u00a350m.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a gamble by the club, but a gamble they had to take. A fit Dominic Calvert-Lewin is a \u00a350m, \u00a360m footballer. If you can get him firing, you have to wrap him in cotton wool, let him train when he\u2019s able to. <\/p>\n

\u201cLet him rest and recoup. I think the club will do that. I would have liked to have seen him come off earlier, great goal, holds the ball up, intelligent runs, stretches the game. The biggest job is keeping him fit.\u201d<\/p>\n

How long is Dominic Calvert-Lewin contracted to Leeds?<\/p>\n

Leeds landed Calvert-Lewin ahead of Fenerbahce, with the former Everton striker rejecting an \u00a318m deal<\/a> to sign for the Turkish giants. That would have been under Jose Mourinho, who has since joined Benfica.<\/p>\n

What was perhaps more surprising than seeing Calvert-Lewin reject Champions League clubs and rock up at Leeds in itself was that Leeds handed a contract to the striker until the summer of 2028. A long deal.<\/p>\n

A deal that shows Leeds are willing to place their faith in Calvert-Lewin, not just this season but moving forward.
