rel=\"noopener\">house price <\/a>data has revealed how much prices have risen and fallen in every <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/news\/greater-manchester-news\/\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Greater Manchester <\/a>borough over the last 12 months.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">Property prices have increased overall across the country in the last year, according to new data from the Office for National Statistics.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">However, there are a total of 61 of the UK\u2019s 360 local authority areas that have seen a fall in average house prices during this period.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">Manchester has seen house prices drop, with the average home costing around \u00a36,400 less than it did a year ago.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">The average price for a home in the city was \u00a3249,000 in the 12 months up until July, which is 2.5 percent less than a year earlier.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\"><strong data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">Manchester is one of 61 UK areas to have experienced a drop in house prices this year, including popular London boroughs such as Hammersmith and Fulham, down 5.3 percent, the City of Westminster, down 4.8 percent, and Islington, down 3.9 percent.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">However, the city is the only borough in Greater Manchester where house prices have fallen over the last 12 months.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\"><a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/oldham\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Oldham<\/a> has experienced one of the largest booms in property prices in the whole of the UK.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">The average home there now costs \u00a3206,000 to buy, which is 8.3 percent more than a year ago at an increase of around \u00a315,800.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">In <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/wigan\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Wigan<\/a>, house prices have increased by 5.8 percent on average to \u00a3187,000 and in <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/tameside\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Tameside<\/a> by 5.6 percent to \u00a3209,000.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">Here is the latest average house price in every Greater Manchester borough, along with how much prices have changed in the last expect to pay around \u00a3195,000 for a property in <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/bolton\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Bolton<\/a>, which has risen by three percent in the last year.<\/p>\n<p>Bury<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">In <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/bury\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Bury<\/a>, the average price of a home is now 3.4 percent higher than last year at \u00a3232,000.<\/p>\n<p>Manchester<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">Manchester is the only borough where house prices have fallen, with the average cost of a home now \u00a3249,000.<\/p>\n<p>Oldham<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">The average property price in Oldham is currently \u00a3206,000, which has gone up by 8.3 percent &#8211; the biggest rise in the region.<\/p>\n<p>Rochdale<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\"><a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/rochdale\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Rochdale<\/a> now has an average house price of \u00a3199,000, which has risen by 5.5 percent over the last year.<\/p>\n<p>Salford<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">Homebuyers in <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/salford\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Salford<\/a> can now expect to pay around \u00a3220,000 on average for a home, which has risen by 0.5 percent in the last 12 months.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" rel=\"noopener\">Stockport<\/a> is now \u00a3307,000, having gone up by 4.3 percent over the last year.<\/p>\n<p>Tameside<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">House prices in Tameside have risen by 5.6 percent in the last 12 months, taking the average property price up to \u00a3209,000.<\/p>\n<p>Trafford<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">In <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/trafford\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Trafford<\/a>, properties are now 1.7 percent more expensive than they were last year, with an average house price of \u00a3369,000.<\/p>\n<p>Wigan<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">The average house price in Wigan is now \u00a3187,000, which has risen by 5.8 percent over the last 12 months.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\"><strong data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">Elsewhere in the UK, the East Sussex seaside town of Eastbourne has seen the biggest decrease in average property prices over the last 12 months.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">The average home there sold for \u00a3243,000 in the year to July, which is 10.4 percent less than a year earlier.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">In Ceredigion, Wales, prices fell by an average of 6.8 percent to \u00a3218,000, while in Wandsworth the average fall was 6.4 percent to \u00a3691,000 and in Mid Devon it was 5.6 percent down to \u00a3281,000.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">On the other hand, Sunderland is the UK\u2019s property hotspot at the moment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">The average home in the city cost \u00a3147,000 in the 12 months to July, which is 12.7 percent more than a year earlier.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">In Renfrewshire, the average home costs \u00a3162,000, which is 11 percent more than a year ago.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">Inverclyde is the cheapest place to buy a home in the UK, where the average property costs \u00a3114,000, up 3.7 percent from a year ago.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">Burnley is the second cheapest place to buy a home in the UK.
