Liverpool\u2019s U18s suffered a shock 8-3 defeat at home to Blackburn on Saturday, with debuts handed to two Reds youngsters.<\/b><\/p>\n

Simon Wiles\u2019 side were looking to bounce back after losing 4-3 at home to Newcastle<\/a> in their last U18 Premier League<\/a> game, with Josh Abe (15) and Erik Farkas (16) making their Reds bows.<\/p>\n

But there were even more goals this time, and not in a positive sense!<\/p>\n

The game only remained goalless until the 10th minute at the AXA Training Centre, with Freddie Leatherbarrow firing the visitors in front.<\/p>\n

Having twice cleared off the line, Liverpool then found themselves 2-0 down, with Jayden Sergeant going from provider to scorer.<\/p>\n

From nowhere, though, the Reds found themselves level at 2-2, thanks to La\u2019more Forrester\u2019s strike and Josh Sonni-Lambie\u2019s penalty.<\/p>\n

But Liverpool\u2019s joy was short-lived and they didn\u2019t manage to go in level at the break, with Leatherbarrow bagging his second goal of the afternoon on the stroke of half-time. <\/p>\n

Valentin Joseph made it 4-2 shortly after the restart and Featherbarrow completed his hat-trick, as the game started to get away from Wiles\u2019 young side.<\/p>\n

Blackburn\u2019s sixth goal of the afternoon came courtesy of Joseph, and when Alvin Ayman was shown a straight red card for reacting to a challenge on him, Liverpool\u2019s day went from bad to woeful.<\/p>\n

\"LIVERPOOL,<\/p>\n

Aaron Potter and Harry Lister added to the Reds\u2019 humiliation, but in fairness, they showed some fight in scoring a consolation through Haydn Murray-Holme\u2019s free-kick.<\/p>\n

Still, this was not a day that Wiles and his players will want to remember in a hurry, with a big response away to Leeds<\/a> next Saturday needed.<\/p>\n

Liverpool sit seventh in the table, with the Whites in fifth place and only a point ahead of the Reds, having played one game more.<\/p>\n
