{"id":441092,"date":"2025-09-21T14:25:22","date_gmt":"2025-09-21T14:25:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/441092\/"},"modified":"2025-09-21T14:25:22","modified_gmt":"2025-09-21T14:25:22","slug":"what-is-happening-with-sergio-reguilon-after-leaving-tottenham-as-a-free-agent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/441092\/","title":{"rendered":"What is happening with Sergio Reguilon after leaving Tottenham as a free agent?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>After he was released by Tottenham Hotspur at the end of the season, Sergio Reguilon may be in line for a near instant return to the Premier League.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Tottenham had an extremely busy summer, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spurs-web.com\/tottenham-hotspur-fan-articles\/rating-tottenhams-seven-summer-transfers-out-of-ten-with-one-star-getting-a-perfect-10-10\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">seven new faces arriving at Hotspur Way during the transfer window<\/a> and many leaving.<\/p>\n<p>While the likes of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spurs-web.com\/spurs-news\/who-is-heung-min-son-spurs-captain-explained-including-south-korea-fame-and-iconic-celebration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Heung-min Son<\/a>, Bryan Gil and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spurs-web.com\/tag\/manor-solomon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Manor Solomon<\/a> left in the later stages of the transfer window, a few also headed out of the door at the start of the summer.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.spurs-web.com\/spurs-news\/tottenham-confirm-pierre-emile-hojbjerg-sale-four-player-exits-timo-werner-fraser-forster-sergio-reguilon-alfie-whiteman\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fraser Forster,\u00a0Sergio Reguilon\u00a0and Alfie Whiteman were released by Spurs at the end of last season<\/a>, and one of them has been backed to return to the Premier League.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/sergio-reguilon-p33-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"Sergio Reguilon Tottenham\" class=\"wp-image-336983\" \/>Credit: @thefrederikkejensen \/ InstagramSergio Reguilon is on the radar of Premier League clubs after Tottenham exit\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The transfer market may have closed, but journalist Pete O\u2019Rourke has revealed that clubs are still looking at the free-agent market to reinforce their squad.<\/p>\n<p>He claimed that Sergio Reguilon\u2019s name will be on the wishlist of several top-flight sides who are looking to add an experienced full-back to their team.<\/p>\n<p>O\u2019Rourke told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.footballinsider247.com\/sergio-reguilon-eyes-premier-league-return-as-everton-transfer-plan-revealed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Football Insider<\/a> about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spurs-web.com\/tag\/sergio-reguilon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reguilon<\/a>: \u201cYeah, obviously, he\u2019s had probably a disappointing couple of years, Reguilon, after he couldn\u2019t establish himself in the Spurs team.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe had a couple of loan spells away at Man United and Brentford, but again didn\u2019t really rip up any trees on those loan moves. A lot will depend on whether any <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spurs-web.com\/tag\/premier-league\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Premier League<\/a> clubs are in desperate need of reinforcements at the back due to injury issues.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cReguilon might then figure on their wanted list because he is a free agent and would be an ideal option to add experience and cover at left-back. Being a free agent, it would be a low-risk investment for any Premier League clubs because there would be no fee involved for him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pundit is surprised that another former Tottenham man has not found a new club<\/p>\n<p>Another man who may soon find a new club is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spurs-web.com\/tag\/fraser-forster\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fraser Forster<\/a>, and one former Premier League goalkeeper is surprised that he has not been picked up yet.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.spurs-web.com\/spurs-news\/tottenham-let-experienced-player-leave-for-free-and-ben-foster-is-shocked-no-one-has-signed-him\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ben Foster has said that the former Spurs goalkeeper would be the ideal third-choice goalkeeper for many clubs<\/a>, given the experience he possesses.<\/p>\n<p>Over the last two seasons, several <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.spurs-web.com\/spurs-news\/a-real-joker-timo-werner-admits-he-finds-one-spurs-teammate-hilarious\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Spurs players have praised Forster\u2019s influence on dressing room morale<\/a>, and one would imagine he would be a great player to have around, especially for newly promoted sides, who lack Premier League know-how and experience.<\/p>\n<p>       Have something to tell us about this article?
