Anything other than a win at Wolves would have only seen the pressure on Farke begin to ramp up quickly.

But, Farke’s men came from behind to beat Wolves at Molineux. A happy hunting ground for Leeds, who won all three matches against the Midlands side when Jesse Marsch was in charge at Leeds, 2022-2023.

Having picked up four points from four games and scored one solitary goal, a penalty against Everton, Leeds needed to win at Wolves. That, they did. A 3-1 comeback win over Vitor Pereira’s struggling side.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Anton Stach and Noah Okafor scored. The first time three Leeds players had all scored their first goal in the same game, in the club’s history. The Sweden star was the man who scored the bizarre own goal that handed Fulham a win at Craven Cottage last weekend, a complete fluke.

Yet, having bounced off his head and arguably not switching on sooner to get his body in a better area, Gudmundsson was in tears in the Leeds dressing room, according to The Rest Is Football’s Gary Lineker.

The YEP say Gudmundsson was spotted releasing some pent-up relief as the ref blew for full-time: “[He was] screaming in joy and relief at the full-time whistle, grabbing his shorts and yelling at the sky.”

Gabriel Gudmundsson produces another brilliant performance

Arguably, Gudmundsson has been Leeds’ best signing.
