Mohamed Salah<\/a> has taken to social media after aiding Liverpool<\/a> in extending its comfortable lead at the top of the Premier League<\/a> table.<\/p>\n

The Reds secured a 2-1 victory over Everton<\/a> in the Merseyside derby on Saturday, with Salah playing a pivotal role. Salah set up Ryan Gravenberch for the opening goal at Anfield, with Hugo Ekitike also finding the back of the net.<\/p>\n

This result propelled Liverpool six points clear at the top of the Premier League standings, which was later reduced to five points following Arsenal’s 1-1 draw<\/a> with Manchester City<\/a> on Sunday. That’s a significant margin considering only five games have been played this season.<\/p>\n

Salah’s assist marked his third in all competitions this season, bringing his total goal contributions to six in as many appearances this term.<\/p>\n

Just over 24 hours later, Salah shared two posts on social media as Liverpool gears up for its next domestic game in midweek.<\/p>\n

In his first Instagram story, Salah posted a video of Ibrahima Konate greeting him and some of his Liverpool teammates.<\/p>\n

His second post featured him in the gym at the AXA Training Centre, which appeared to be entirely deserted.<\/p>\n

This update from Salah follows head coach Arne Slot’s near confirmation that Liverpool’s No. 11 will not be in the starting line-up against Southampton in the Carabao Cup clash on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Slot indicated that Salah is one of five players who are unlikely to participate in the third-round tie in midweek.<\/p>\n

“It’s the reason why teams like us and the ones in Europe need a squad like this, as you play so many games,” Slot told reporters after the win over Everton.<\/p>\n

“It’s not an excuse; we accept it.<\/p>\n

“We have had some issues with Alexander Isak not training for four months, Alexis Mac Allister missing out a lot, I can go on and on.<\/p>\n

“The good thing is I have the options to rotate throughout the week – and the ones that played three times 90 minutes are Virgil (Van Dijk), Ibou (Konate), Mo, Ryan (Gravenberch), and Dom (Szoboszlai), the ones that are used to this intensity at this level, and again they showed up really good.<\/p>\n
