A woman aged 81 was rescued from water after reports of a concern for her welfare, Greater Manchester Police<\/a> has said.<\/p>\n Emergency services were called to Queen’s Park Road in Heywood<\/a>, near Rochdale<\/a>, at around 7.38am on Sunday morning.<\/p>\n Ambulances and police cars were pictured on the road bridge that runs over a stretch of the River Roch in the area, although exact details on what happened haven’t been revealed.<\/p>\n Police said the woman was ‘found in the water’ and later taken to hospital.<\/p>\n Never miss a story with the MEN’s daily Catch Up newsletter – get it in your inbox by signing up here<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n A spokesperson for GMP said she remained in hospital on Sunday afternoon ‘receiving treatment’.<\/p>\n In a statement, police said she was rescued from a body of water.<\/p>\n A spokesperson said: “Officers were called to reports of a concern for welfare on Queen’s Park Road in Heywood at around 7.38am this morning (Sunday 21 September).<\/p>\n Join the Manchester Evening News <\/strong>WhatsApp<\/strong> group <\/strong>HERE<\/a><\/p>\n “An 81-year-old woman was found in the water and taken to safety by emergency service workers.
