To support Organ and Tissue Donation Week 2025 the City Chambers will be lit up pink in the evening on Thursday 25 September 2025.<\/p>\n
The campaign is designed to bring the conversation home encouraging everyone to speak to their family and loved ones about organ donation and make their wishes known.<\/p>\n
This year the theme is \u201cDon\u2019t leave your loved ones in doubt\u201d with a message to people aged 16+ to make their donation decision on the NHS Organ Donor Register. <\/p>\n
Lord Provost Robert Aldridge, said: \u201cResearch shows that over 1 in 3 people from the target audience are willing to donate but haven\u2019t yet registered their decision. Now is the perfect time to encourage people to make their choice known.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese are important conversations to have with family, friends, colleagues and within our communities. When families know a loved one\u2019s wishes, they are more likely to support organ donation.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhile it\u2019s encouraging that more than half of people in Scotland have now registered their decision about organ and tissue donation, many still haven\u2019t. Whatever your decision may be, what matters most is that you make it, talk about it with those close to you and record it.<\/p>\n
\u201cI hope this week\u2019s campaign, which highlights the lifesaving potential of organ donation, inspires anyone aged 16 or over who has yet to record their decision to visit the official website and do so today.\u201d<\/p>\n
