The Duke<\/a> and Duchess of Sussex<\/a> have not held back when it comes to airing their grievances with the royal family<\/a>, but now it seems Meghan is set to be in the firing line.<\/p>\n

The Mirror revealed last week that that Jessica Mulroney<\/a> – Meghan’s former best friend – could be poised to write a tell-all book, which may include some intimate insights into their friendship and subsequent fall-out. And now insiders have revealed Jessica’s true feelings around the saga.<\/p>\n

Meghan and Jessica were once incredibly close. Jessica was the first friend Meghan called from when Harry proposed, and the Mulroney family took on prominent roles at Harry and Meghan’s wedding in 2018.<\/p>\n

But the two women haven’t been seen together for years, with sources claiming that Meghan permanently cut ties with Jessica in 2020 after she became embroiled in a row with influencer Sasha Exeter.<\/p>\n

Jessica was said to be incredibly hurt by Meghan’s apparent decision to cut ties. “She was upset their friendship ended. Jessica knows where the bodies are buried. Meghan will be worried,” an insider told the Daily Mail.<\/p>\n

And people in the publishing world<\/a> are circling, with an advance of $1million apparently on the table. A source told the Mirror<\/a>: “Jessica’s explosive story is the one publishers want to get their hands on. She could command up to a seven-figure dollar sum depending on what she is prepared to say.<\/p>\n

“There’s huge interest in Jessica’s perspective and her time in the royal spotlight when friends with Meghan. People would rush to buy Jessica’s book to know what really happened between them. Hers is the real story royal watchers want to read and are asking for.”<\/p>\n

The insider continued: “Jessica was let down and hurt by these false accusations swirling around her. She was really put through the mud in 2020 and has had an emotional time since then, watching from the sidelines while it all played out in the media with false reports about her, and unable to say anything.<\/p>\n

“This could be her chance to set the record straight about a lot of things that she was accused of, after being cancelled.<\/p>\n

“She has the receipts. No one had a voice for her and helped her to get the truth out at the time, so writing a book would be the chance to reclaim her power and counteract the false stories, like the one about the treatment of Princess Charlotte during the bridesmaid’s dress fitting in 2018 for Meghan’s wedding to Harry.<\/p>\n

“If she goes ahead with a book deal, Jessica would finally be able to explain what really took place at that time and correct all the false narratives that have been spun around her.”<\/p>\n

The mystery behind the broken friendship has now taken a fresh turn as Jessica has stated that there is ‘absolutely not’ an autobiography in the works. But sources say that Jessica still ‘has an axe to grind’ with the Duchess.<\/p>\n

It’s a complete switch up for the former friends. Meghan first met Jessica when she was filming legal drama Suits in Toronto and the stylist went on to attend her wedding to Prince Harry<\/a> in 2018, having helped keep their dates in Canada and London secret in the summer of 2016.<\/p>\n

In her 2022 Netflix<\/a> documentary, Meghan shared footage of the night Prince Harry proposed in 2017 – where she FaceTimed her friend ‘Jess’ as she walked the grounds of Kensington Palace.<\/p>\n

Jessica’s twin sons, Brian and John, took on major duties at Meghan and Harry’s 2018 wedding, helping to carry her veil down the aisle of St George’s Chapel. Her daughter Ivy also had a prominent role: she assisted Meghan as a bridesmaid, alongside Princess Charlotte.<\/p>\n

But in 2020, Canadian lifestyle influencer Sasha Exeter publicly accused Jessica of exhibiting “textbook white privilege” and “very problematic behaviour and antics” after Exeter posted a call to action in support of Black Lives Matter.<\/p>\n

Jessica initially apologised in a comment on Exeter’s video. But tensions escalated when Exeter later shared a private message from Jessica, who allegedly alluded to taking legal action for libel.<\/p>\n

In the wake of the controversy, Jessica’s television show I Do, Redo was pulled by Canadian network CTV, and she announced she was “stepping away” from professional commitments, including regular appearances on Good Morning America.<\/p>\n

Jessica seemingly addressed rumours that she and Meghan had grown apart amid the scandal, posting on her Instagram<\/a> Stories in September 2020: “I’m going to tell this once and for all. Meghan and I are family. She is the kindest friend and has checked up on me everyday.”<\/p>\n

However, Meghan and Jessica haven’t been seen together since – nor have they featured on each other’s social media, something that was once a regular occurrence. In fact, they don’t even follow each other.<\/p>\n

There was no mention of Jessica in Spare, and she was also notably absent from Meghan’s Netflix series With Love, Meghan, which featured several of her close friends.<\/p>\n

A source previously told Page Six that at the time of the influencer row, Jessica and Meghan’s friendship was already on the rocks because Meghan allegedly felt Jessica was trying to ‘make a career out of the friendship’.<\/p>\n
