A major retailer has announced the sudden closure<\/a> of a Scots branch after six years of trading. Following the news, the firm has announced a “biggest ever” closing down sale.<\/p>\n The Designer Rooms announced on social media<\/a> that it will be permanently shuttering its branch based in Glasgow’s Silverburn Shopping Centre at the end of the year when its lease agreement closes.<\/p>\n First opened in 2019, the branch is the flagship location for the luxury homeware store that specialises in designer home furnishings and accessories such as sofas, home d\u00e9cor items, chests of drawers and bed frames.<\/p>\n In an announcement to Facebook yesterday, September 21, the firm said: “We are absolutely gutted to announce that our Silverburn lease is ending at the end of this year.<\/p>\n “When we opened in 2019, we were just a family-run, Ayrshire<\/a> based business who signed a one year lease, but six amazing years later it is now time for our Silverburn chapter to close.”<\/p>\n While the company confirmed there were “a few exciting things happening in the background”, it has closed its Silverburn store today, September 22 and tomorrow Tuesday, September 24, to reduce the price of “every single item”.<\/p>\n The store will then be reopened to the public at 10am on Wednesday, September 24, for the “biggest ever end of lease sale you have ever seen.”<\/p>\n With prices reduced across every item in store, the company further advised shoppers to “be early” as to avoid disappointment when heading to make some bargains later this week.<\/p>\n The closure announcement has since been viewed 129,000 times since it was posted, while over 100 shoppers have left a comment tagging their friends and family in the news, with some responding with a crying emoji.<\/p>\n The Designer Rooms was first established in 2010 in the town of Ayr, Ayrshire and has since opened further showrooms across Glasgow, Irvine, Kilmarnock and Wishaw.<\/p>\n News of the retailer’s Silverburn closure comes just after it was announced that a new The Designer Rooms Clearance outlet had opened in the Braehead Shopping Centre<\/a>.<\/p>\n Located a few doors down from the firm’s main showroom in the same shopping centre, the store opening was announced on TikTok and came with a limited-time sale that offered up to 70 percent off.<\/p>\n Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today.<\/p>\n You’ll receive daily updates on breaking news as well as the top headlines across Scotland.<\/p>\n No one will be able to see who is signed up and no one can send messages except the Daily Record team.<\/p>\n All you have to do is click here if you’re on mobile<\/strong><\/a>, select ‘Join Community’ and you’re in!<\/p>\n If you’re on a desktop, simply scan the QR code above with your phone and click ‘Join Community’.<\/p>\n We also treat our community members to special offers, promotions, and adverts from us and our partners.
