High street beauty chain Bodycare have announced that they expect to close all 56 of the business’ remaining stores by the end of this week, resulting in almost 450 redundancies.<\/p>\n

The news comes after the company fell into administration<\/a>, before announcing earlier this month it would be closing 62 of its stores, including outlets in Bolton<\/a>, Salford<\/a>, Hyde<\/a>, Rochdale<\/a> and Royton, Oldham<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Since the last update<\/a>, administrators at advisory firm Interpath have revealed that a sale of Bodycare’s stores is now unlikely and that all of the chain’s remaining stores will be closed.<\/p>\n

All 56 of the company’s remaining stores are expected to close by Saturday, September 27, including stores in Ashton-Under-Lyne<\/a>, Bury<\/a>, Leigh<\/a>, Manchester<\/a> and Oldham<\/a>.<\/p>\n

These latest closures are expected to result in all the chain’s 444 employees working at these locations being made redundant.<\/p>\n

Nick Holloway, managing director at Interpath and joint administrator, said: “We understand this has been a difficult period and so we want to further express our sincere thanks to Bodycare\u2019s staff who, since day one of the administration, have maintained the strong standards of presentation and customer service that Bodycare was renowned for.”<\/p>\n

He added: “We will continue to explore options for the Company\u2019s assets, including the Bodycare brand, and will provide further updates in due course.”<\/p>\n

The company, which was initially founded on a market stall in Lancashire<\/a> in 1970, appointed Interpath on September 5 after reporting it had faced increasing pressure from rising costs and the cost-of-living crisis impacting customer interest.<\/p>\n

The store also said it faced a delayed transition from its online retail platform, impacting its financial position as well as a shortfall in funding after aborting a planned stock market listing last year, which also affected supplier relationships and stock levels.<\/p>\n
