Mikel Arteta has had his side\u2019s mentality challenged after they scraped a late draw against Man City<\/a>, with Liverpool continuing to set the early standards with five straight wins.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is far too early to be looking at the Premier League<\/a> table, but any title race in recent memory will tell you dropped points cannot become a habit. <\/p>\n

Liverpool won the title last season with four games to spare due to their superiority, with Arsenal<\/a> having dropped points on 16 different occasions before the trophy was officially clinched. <\/p>\n

In the five games to start the season, the Gunners have lost to Liverpool and snatched a late draw against Man City<\/a>, where they opted to celebrate and bring on a defender rather than rushing to the halfway line to chase the winner.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

With Arteta\u2019s side finishing as runners-up for three successive seasons, Arsenal<\/a>\u2018s approach against City was questioned by the Sky Sports panel, with the battle for the league title in mind.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I\u2019m looking at Arteta, I think his mindset is, \u2018Let\u2019s make sure we don\u2019t get beaten today\u2019. But because of the standards of the other teams, and we\u2019re talking about Liverpool and Man City<\/a> over the last few years, that won\u2019t be enough,\u201d Roy Keane said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve all sat there and gone, we\u2019ll take the draw. But you know too many draws won\u2019t get you anywhere fast, particularly when Liverpool are setting such high standards, and Man City<\/a> did for a number of years, where Arsenal<\/a> were competing with them.<\/p>\n

\"Mikel<\/p>\n

\u201cSo they have to change that mindset, particularly at the start of the game today, \u2018Let\u2019s go at them\u2019. It\u2019s as if they were waiting for something to happen. They\u2019ve got the quality, the strength and depth. What are they waiting for? Have they got that belief?<\/p>\n

\u201cYou get proud of your team when you\u2019re winning trophies, and that\u2019s the next step for them. So Arsenal<\/a> have to look at that and go, \u2018Are we proud to get a draw against a Man City<\/a> team who aren\u2019t at their very best?’\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cA recurring pattern\u201d for Arsenal<\/p>\n

\"LIVERPOOL,<\/p>\n

Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher shared similar thoughts on Arteta\u2019s \u2018negative\u2019 tactics, which is at odds with how Liverpool have scored late winners in four of their five league games to date.<\/p>\n

Neville said: \u201cAt Arsenal<\/a> Football Club, you make your attacking plays at 0-0 to give you the best chance of going and making an impact. <\/p>\n

\u201cBut also it sends your message to your players that I believe in you, you\u2019re going to go out there and win me this game.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s the bit that I have doubts about Arsenal<\/a>, and it isn\u2019t going to go away until someone proves me wrong. I like them, and they\u2019re a good side. I like watching them play, but they\u2019ve got to take the handbrake off.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"LIVERPOOL,<\/p>\n

Carragher, who considers Arsenal<\/a> as having the \u201cbest squad\u201d in the league, added: \u201cLiverpool were there for the taking in that second half at Anfield, Man City<\/a> were there for the taking at the start of this game, and he has allowed them to come into the game.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is just a recurring pattern season after season and if you are Arteta and an Arsenal<\/a> supporter, you just have to hope that does not cost you at the end of the season, as they are a brilliant team with a fantastic squad, but the margins are so small.\u201d <\/p>\n
