Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has promised the club will show their respect and appreciation to \u201cgreat human being\u201d Matt Beard following the death of their former women\u2019s team boss at the weekend.<\/p>\n
The men\u2019s team will honour the 47-year-old, who had two successful spells at the club, on Tuesday ahead of the Carabao Cup third-round tie at home to Southampton.<\/p>\n
Sunday\u2019s Women\u2019s Super League game against Aston Villa was postponed, as was another former club Burnley\u2019s National League fixture against West Brom, and all women\u2019s top-flight matches held a minute\u2019s silence.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s very important for us to pay tribute, for what he meant for this football club,\u201d Slot told liverpoolfc.com.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis football club is not only the men\u2019s team, it\u2019s also the women\u2019s team and he had an enormous impact on women\u2019s football here with Liverpool.<\/p>\n
