England manager Sarina Wiegman has been named best women\u2019s coach in the world at the Ballon d\u2019Or, while goalkeeper Hannah Hampton picked up the award for best goalkeeper.<\/p>\n

Wiegman has been rewarded for steering the Lionesses to Euro 2025<\/a> glory in Switzerland in the summer \u2013 the first time a senior England team has lifted a major trophy abroad.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat an honour to get this award after an insane summer,\u201d Wiegman said at the ceremony in Paris.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would like to thank the players, the staff, the FA and my family for the hard work, trust and unconditional support I got from them.<\/p>\n

“Without you I would not be standing here.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe women\u2019s game has grown so far, we have broken records.”<\/p>\n

Wiegman said it was not just a personal honour but recognition of the women\u2019s game “because we have come so far\u201d.<\/p>\n

England\u2019s Hannah Hampton<\/a> was crowned the best women\u2019s goalkeeper in the world, winning the Yashin Trophy following her exploits in the Euros and for Chelsea.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think this award is an achievement for me, it\u2019s an achievement for women\u2019s goalkeeping,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI stand on the shoulders of so many great goalkeepers of the past.<\/p>\n

“Sitting alongside my fellow nominees, it\u2019s an honour to be part of such an incredible group.\u201d<\/p>\n

Paris St Germain and France forward Ousmane Dembele has won the men\u2019s Ballon d\u2019Or, while Barcelona and Spain midfielder Aitana Bonmati has won the women\u2019s Ballon d\u2019Or for the third year in a row.<\/p>\n

Manchester City keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma walked away with the men\u2019s Yashin Trophy after proving to be a key player in PSG\u2019s successful 2024-25 season, which included clinching the Champions League.<\/p>\n

New Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres took the Gerd Muller Trophy for men\u2019s top scorer in club and international football, after firing 54 goals in 52 games for Sporting last term.<\/p>\n

The Gunners were named women\u2019s club of the year following their Champions League triumph, which saw them beat Barcelona 1-0 in the final.<\/p>\n
