Liverpool have become a powerhouse in transfer windows, but one of their best pieces of business has come at youth level.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Liverpool spent a huge amount in the summer<\/a> as Arne Slot<\/a> looks to defend the title he won last season.<\/p>\n

Alexander Isak was a blockbuster signing for Liverpool<\/a> and ones fans will be expecting plenty from.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s a much younger star emerging in Slot\u2019s plans, though, and he cost no where near as much; leaving the club he left \u2018furious\u2019 with his exit.<\/p>\n

A last-kick-of-the-game-winner against Newcastle<\/a> on his Premier League<\/a> debut pushed Rio Ngumoha<\/a> into the spotlight. <\/p>\n

Since then, Ngumoha has made Liverpool\u2019s Champions League squad<\/a> and looks to have cemented himself as a genuine first team option.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

He wasn\u2019t always a Liverpool<\/a> player though. Ngumoha began his career with Chelsea<\/a>\u2018s youth academy, and, according to the Daily Mail<\/a>, the Reds\u2019 chief scout Chris Wilkins was \u2018crucial\u2019 to the teenager agreeing to move north.<\/p>\n

After watching Ngumoha in action last summer, Wilkins convince the 17-year-old that Liverpool could offer a better pathway to first team football. <\/p>\n

As a result, he left Chelsea, but the deal\u2019s fee is still being contested.<\/p>\n

Frustrated Chelsea expecting sizeable compensation package<\/strong><\/p>\n

Chelsea are said to be \u2018furious\u2019 with Liverpool for poaching of arguably their best young talent. <\/p>\n

The clubs are currently embroiled in a compensation tribunal. Liverpool could pay Chelsea several million pounds for Ngumoha<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Chelsea believe the 17-year-old\u2019s sudden rise will increase the sum they\u2019re entitled to, but appreciate in a few years, the youngster will be worth a lot more.<\/p>\n

Even if FSG<\/a> are forced to pay Ngumoha\u2019s full value, it will still be no where near his true worth, and the Reds know it.<\/p>\n

Regardless of what the tribunal decide, Chelsea know they have lost a real star and one which could come back to haunt them.<\/p>\n

Liverpool travel to Stamford Bridge on 4 October and Ngumoha may well be in line to feature.<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Credit: IMAGO.
