Nestled along the River Tyne&#8217;s quayside, this thoroughly modern establishment builds on the clean-cut decadence of the group&#8217;s other northern and Scottish properties across Leeds, Edinburgh and Glasgow with 118 well-priced rooms to its name \u2013 all within 20 minutes walk of Fenwick department store and the rest of the city centre.<\/p>\n<p>The Dakota isn&#8217;t a showy kind of hotel with gaudy artwork draped around the walls and a cocktail menu that&#8217;s stacked with luminous monstrosities. Instead, there&#8217;s a quiet luxury to the place that&#8217;s evident from the moment you lay eyes on the many Bentleys and Porsches that are parked around its entrance. From its champagne room to the cigar terrace, you&#8217;re never too far away from your home comfort of choice and a gloriously deep chair to sink into.
