And now it\u2019s one in 31 but in some areas it\u2019s much worse\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">He\u2019s right in that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/autism\/data-research\/index.html#:~:text=Prevalence%20of%20ASD,such%20as%201%20in%20100\" class=\"ssrcss-f6h2dj-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the most recent data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, external<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/autism\/data-research\/index.html#:~:text=Prevalence%20of%20ASD,such%20as%201%20in%20100).\" class=\"ssrcss-f6h2dj-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> , external<\/a>(CDC) from 2022 &#8211; which provides official estimates for autism rates in the US and whose work is often cited by the current administration &#8211; suggests 1 in 31 eight-year-olds in the US have autism.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">And this rate has increased from 18 years ago &#8211; but by nowhere near as much as Trump suggested.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">There was no prevalence study for 2007 but in 2006 the CDC estimated the rate to be 1 in 110.
