Now, a new ranking from smart home company Eufy<\/a> has revealed the 10 worst places to live in Britain in 2025, and the list includes three of the country\u2019s best-known seaside towns:<\/p>\n

10. Bournemouth<\/strong>
<\/strong>Famous for its beaches, Bournemouth rounds off the list. The tourist hotspot is one of the most expensive places to live, with high housing costs and pricey essentials. While tourism thrives, career opportunities outside the sector remain limited. Critics also point to a lack of cultural diversity.<\/p>\n

9. Aldershot<\/strong>
Known for its military history, Aldershot has parts ranked among the most deprived in England. Poverty, unemployment, and overcrowded transport networks are daily struggles, while rising crime further damages its reputation.<\/p>\n

8. Middlesbrough<\/strong>
Middlesbrough has never recovered from the collapse of its industrial base. Unemployment and poverty run deep, with over 40% of rental housing judged substandard. Crime, including hate offences and drug-related issues, is on the rise.<\/p>\n

7. Kingston upon Hull<\/strong>
Hull continues to struggle with deprivation following the collapse of its fishing industry. Residents face low incomes, poor health, and low life expectancy. Drug crime remains a serious concern, with the city long linked to trafficking networks.<\/p>\n

6. Blackpool<\/strong>
Once Britain\u2019s favourite seaside resort, Blackpool has seen sharp decline. It now ranks lowest in the country for health, while unemployment, drug misuse, and homelessness are widespread. Many locals say the town has been “left behind” by investment.<\/p>\n

5. Portsmouth<\/strong>
<\/strong>Portsmouth\u2019s seaside charm hides serious social issues. The city faces rising crime, unemployment, and a high\u00a0cost of living<\/a>. Congestion and poverty add to the pressures on its 200,000 residents, despite its proud naval history.<\/p>\n

4. Peterborough<\/strong>

In Bedfordshire, Luton is dogged by overcrowded housing, poor living conditions, and limited job opportunities. High crime rates place it among the most affected areas nationwide, leaving many residents with low pay and few prospects.<\/p>\n

Once a powerhouse of Britain\u2019s textile industry, Bradford now tops the list as the worst place to live in the UK. According to Eufy, crime rates here are 90% above the national average, with drugs and economic crime a persistent problem.
