So, we’ve been having a browse on the Microsoft Store this morning to check out all the new Xbox deals that have been added (more on those later today), and we’ve come across something called “Check Your Chat” on the main page.<\/p>\n

Microsoft is specifically telling Xbox fans that they’ve been sent some free money, and it’s apparently in the form of a promo code that will be available via the “Chat” section of your Xbox profile.<\/p>\n

Here’s what the description says:<\/p>\n

“Check your chat – We’ve sent you some money<\/strong><\/p>\n

We’ve sent you money! Redeem your promo code from chats, and save on exclusive offers.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

<\/blockquote>\n

Once you hit this button, it redirects to an “offers for you” page featuring only a few “exclusive” discounts, the majority of which are Xbox Game Pass<\/a> related – so perhaps the free money will only be for XGP members.<\/p>\n

Xbox’s free gift card giveaways usually apply to all games on the store though, so we don’t think you’ll be forced to pick from one of these “offers for you” discounts.<\/p>\n

It’s not just us that’s spotted it – these folks over on Reddit have noticed as well:<\/p>\n

However, it doesn’t seem like anything’s actually happened yet. We’ve not had a promo code in our “Chat” sections on Xbox, and nobody in that Reddit thread has either. Perhaps Microsoft just set this live a little bit too early?<\/p>\n

In any case, keep a close eye on your Xbox Chat section over the next few days! Hopefully we’ll all get a bit of Microsoft Store credit to spend very soon, which is great timing considering multiple new sales have just gone live today.<\/p>\n

Here’s how to find the Chat section on your Xbox console:<\/p>\n

  1. Press the Guide button on your Xbox controller (the one with the Xbox logo on it)<\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. Scroll to the right until you reach “Parties & Chats”<\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. Go to down to “Chats” and press A<\/strong><\/li>\n
  4. See if Xbox has shared a promo code with you (make sure it’s officially from “Xbox”)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
