The victim of a suspected murder in a Welsh village has been named as 22-year-old Liam Woolford. A murder investigation has been launched after police were called to reports of a disturbance on Poets Close in Rhydyfelin<\/a> on the outskirts of Pontypridd<\/a> just before 1am on Tuesday.<\/p>\n According to police, three men in their 20s were injured and taken to hospital. Mr Woolford, from Porth<\/a>, died from his injuries in hospital. His family said on Tuesday evening: \u201cThe family are thinking of their loving son Liam at this difficult time and ask for privacy to grieve.\u201d<\/p>\n A 30-year-old man from Rhydyfelin has been arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder while a 22-year-old man from Tonteg has also been arrested on suspicion of murder. All three remain in police custody as police continue their investigations.<\/p>\n Detective superintendent Paul Raikes of South Wales Police<\/a> said: \u201cI want to assure the community that we are working at pace to investigate this matter.<\/p>\n “Residents may notice an increased police presence in the area, and a cordon has been established on Masefield Way, specifically between the junctions of Poets Close and Shakespeare Rise.<\/p>\n \u201cWe encourage anyone who may have witnessed this incident or has any relevant information to contact us through this link<\/a>, quoting reference number 2500304909.
