Ruben Amorim has been told he may only have a few months left in charge of Manchester United<\/a> after Oliver Glasner was tipped to replace him.<\/p>\n

The Portuguese manager has been under huge pressure in recent weeks after overseeing United’s worst start to a season since 1992-93. A 2-1 win over Chelsea at Old Trafford on Saturday<\/a> helped ease some of his woes as his players put in a gritty performance.<\/p>\n

However, former United goalkeeper Ben Foster believes it’s still only a matter of time before Amorim<\/a> gets his marching orders after accusing his team of failing to gel so far this season. He also backed Crystal Palace<\/a> boss Glasner to become his successor after the Eagles’ impressive start to their campaign, which comes despite the loss of several key players over the summer.<\/p>\n

Speaking on his Fozcast<\/a> podcast, the ex-Wrexham<\/a> shot-stopper said: “I think he [Amorim] has got a couple months left, probably. He’ll go through a bad little run of two or three or four games in a row where he loses and eventually they’ll go, ‘Right, we’ve had enough now, it’s obviously not working.’<\/p>\n

Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports<\/a> bundle for the 2025\/26 season, saving members \u00a3336 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.<\/p>\n

Sky will show at least 215 live Premier League games this season, an increase of up to 100 more.<\/p>\n

“I just watch them, and I don’t really see any kind of cohesion. Somebody who would be good for Man United is Glasner. He’s only got nine months left on his contract at Palace. My only worry about it is that Man United are so sick and tired of playing three at the back.<\/p>\n

“If they go and get Glasner and he goes, ‘Right, I’m playing three at the back,’ they’ll go, ‘Nah, come on mate. This isn’t going to work.’ For this guy to have lost five star players though and for Palace still look like they’ve got better. They’re fifth in the league.”<\/p>\n

Glasner was one of several candidates previously named on a list of potential successors to Amorim if he loses his job. Bookmakers also highlighted Andoni Iraola, Gareth Southgate, Marco Silva and Mauricio Pochettino among the other contenders.<\/p>\n

Amorim was recently linked with to a return to Portugal<\/a> to manage Benfica amid the ongoing speculation about his future at United. Those rumours were put to bed when former Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho<\/a> took up the position last Friday.<\/p>\n

The former Sporting CP coach was later asked about Mourinho’s appointment<\/a> during a post-match interview after United’s win over Chelsea<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“He’s the best Portuguese manager, and that won’t change,” Amorim told Portuguese channel DAZN<\/a>. “He’s always been a very special person in our football, but also in the world, and he opened all the doors for us.<\/p>\n

“I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for Jose Mourinho. I think it’s going to be a lot of fun for you all in Portugal, and we’re going to enjoy it.”<\/p>\n

Commenting on his own future, he added: “It’s what it is and we’ll see what happens,” he said. “But [I’m] focussed only on Manchester and that will be my only club.”<\/p>\n
