Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister<\/a> and his partner, Ailen Cova, have announced the birth of their daughter in a heartfelt social media post. The announcement has been flooded with messages of congratulations from teammates.<\/p>\n

The announcement of the birth<\/a> of Alaia was shared in a joint post on Instagram, which includes heartwarming pictures of the couple holding their new daughter. The caption read: \u201cAlaia – 22\/09.2025.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter 18 hours of suffering, came the most beautiful and special moment of our lives.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a tribute to his partner, Mac Allister wrote: “A paragraph just for you, my love. I\u2019m proud of your strength and the love you showed to overcome this and give us the greatest gift in the world. I love you.”<\/p>\n

Liverpool teammates, current and old, rushed to send messages of support. Goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili<\/a> responded with four red heart emojis.<\/p>\n

Ryan Gravenberch<\/a>, who himself has only recently become a father, responded with two love heart eye emojis. Midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai<\/a> replied with two red heart emojis.<\/p>\n

Former Liverpool man Trent Alexander-Arnold, who completed a summer move to Real Madrid, wrote: \u201cCongratulations\u201d along with three red heart emojis. Fellow summer departee Kostas Tsimikas also sent two red heart emojis.<\/p>\n

Federico Chiesa\u2019s wife, Lucy Bramani, wrote: \u201cWelcome to the world Alaia.\u201d Darwin Nunez\u2019s partner, Lorena Manas, wrote a message which translates to: \u201cCongratulations, Daddy!\u201d.<\/p>\n

Nunez was among those to \u2018like\u2019 the post, were Hugo Ekitike, Curtis Jones, Jeremie Frimpong, Virgil van Dijk, Alisson, Chiesa, Andy Robertson and Wataru Endo.<\/p>\n

The announcement comes just days after Mac Allister confirmed that he wasn\u2019t in attendance for Monday\u2019s Ballon d\u2019Or ceremony due to personal reasons.<\/p>\n

Writing on his Instagram at the time, he said: “Won’t be able to attend @ballondorofficial ceremony today for personal reasons, all the best for everyone, enjoy!”<\/p>\n

The midfielder played an hour of Saturday\u2019s Merseyside derby at Anfield<\/a> on Saturday as the Reds came out as 2-1 winners. But he was not included in the squad for the Carabao Cup third-round win over Southampton on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n
