A group of men are said to have been involved in a fight on Bearwood Road<\/p>\n

An investigation is underway after a fight broke out on a busy high street.<\/p>\n

West Midlands Police<\/a> were called to Bearwood Road, in Smethwick<\/a>, around 1pm, after men, who were said to be armed with weapons, began attacking each other.<\/p>\n

The street was busy with shoppers at the time and officers are carrying out CCTV enquiries and speaking to witnesses.<\/p>\n

No arrests have been made at this point.<\/p>\n

WMP said: “We were called to Bearwood Road in Smethwick just after 1pm to reports of a fight involving a number of men with weapons.<\/p>\n

“The investigation is at an early stage, and we are carrying out a number of enquiries including reviewing CCTV.<\/p>\n

“Anyone who saw or recorded what happened has been asked to get in touch, quoting log 2305.”<\/p>\n

One local, who saw the mayhem, said: “A car stopped and men jumped on top, hitting it with large metal bars and tools.<\/p>\n

“At first, I thought the builders had dropped some equipment then saw all of the men pounding the car windscreen.<\/p>\n

“Lots of people came out of the shops and got video shots of it all.”<\/p>\n
