Kyogo Furuhashi ended his Stade Rennais nightmare in the summer when he joined Birmingham City.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The EFL Championship side, just promoted from League One, spent \u00a310m on the Japanese striker who is revered by Celtic<\/a> fans all over the globe.<\/p>\n

But so far, the 30-year-old is yet to prove he will be a worthy short-term investment because he hasn\u2019t scored a league goal for the Blues thus far.<\/p>\n

Kyogo\u2019s only goal for Birmingham came in the Carabao Cup<\/a> first round victory over Sheffield United when he converted a tap-in.<\/p>\n

He started his first four Championship matches, but has only appeared as a substitute for the previous two versus Stoke City and Swansea City.<\/p>\n

And there seems to be a common school of thought amongst Birmingham fans about Kyogo<\/a> so far.<\/p>\n

This morning, a stat produced by Second Tier Podcast said that no striker has missed more big chances in the EFL Championship this season than Kyogo with six.<\/p>\n

Birmingham fans are all in agreement that Kyogo has fantastic quality in and around the box on and off the ball, but that his finishing lets him down.<\/p>\n

One fan posted on X: \u201cMovement like Lionel Messi. Finishing like Marcus Bent. I hope the later is temporary and curable.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another said: \u201cMovement, speed, skill, vision, positioning all absolutely class, finishing not so much yet!\u201d<\/p>\n

This supporter wrote: \u201cOff the ball he is fantastic. When he gets it he seems a bit rushed, heavy touches, not taking enough touches before he shoots etc I think it\u2019ll be a case of when he hits one in the onion bag they wont stop coming as it\u2019ll settle him down\u201d.<\/p>\n

And this fan said: \u201cHis movement is top class, the way he finds space is honestly mesmerising. First touch is usually top drawer as is his close control. He has a great footballing brain & outstanding vision\u2026 But he couldn\u2019t hit the broadside of a barn with a banjo at the minute.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chris Davies on Kyogo\u2019s current form<\/p>\n

Birmingham manager Chris Davies recently spoke about Kyogo<\/a> to the press and backed the striker to start scoring goals given his previous pedigree.<\/p>\n

Kyogo scored 85 goals for the Hoops, so Davies isn\u2019t panicking just yet. He said: \u201cHe gets chances, that\u2019s what I say about Kyogo. There was another one that came back to him and he\u2019s done an overhead kick, and it\u2019s hit the guy in the face.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe will score. He will score, I don\u2019t doubt it. You just have to look at the stats, look at the amount of goals he scores. He does know how to score goals.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat I love about Kyogo is whenever he is on the pitch, I\u2019m very confident he\u2019s going to get a chance and that\u2019s an exciting player to have. I have no worries about Kyogo. I thought he injected good speed and good energy at that point.\u201d<\/p>\n
