to check if Facebook and messenger are down.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">A third posted: &#8216;facebook\/meta is down so here we are&#8217;, while a fourth simply said:\u00a0&#8216;Whatsapp down?&#8217;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Mark Zuckerberg&#8217;s firm is yet to officially comment on the outage, which follows a <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" target=\"_self\" class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/sciencetech\/article-14182963\/meta-instagram-facebook-whatsapp-outage.html\" rel=\"noopener\">similar episode late last year<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>   <img decoding=\"async\" id=\"i-e78be598e538f4da\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/102418403-15129919-image-a-20_1758726403585.jpg\" height=\"527\" width=\"634\" alt=\"Users piled onto X (Twitter) to see if other users were also having problems with Meta's platforms\" class=\"blkBorder img-share\" style=\"max-width:100%\" loading=\"lazy\" \/>   <\/p>\n<p class=\"imageCaption\">Users piled onto X (Twitter) to see if other users were also having problems with Meta&#8217;s platforms<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">DownDetector gets network status updates from social media platforms, reports submitted to its website and other sources around the web.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">It\u00a0&#8216;only reports an incident when the number of problem reports is significantly higher than the typical volume for that time of day&#8217;.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">According to DownDetector, 66 per cent of Facebook users have reported problems with the server connection, 17 per cent with login and 17 per cent with the app.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Meanwhile, 64 per cent of WhatsApp users reported problems with sending messages, 21 per cent with the website and 16 per cent with the app.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">And on Instagram, 89 per cent have reported problems with the app, 9 per cent with the website and 1 per cent with the feed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">The vast majority of reports of problems to DownDetector \u2013 more than 1,200 \u2013 have been relating to Facebook.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Another 330 reports have been to do with WhatsApp, while another 440 have been to do with Instagram.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">It&#8217;s unclear what the cause of the outage is;
