An Edinburgh Ryanair flight was forced to divert <\/a>with passengers landing ‘120 miles from their destination’.<\/p>\n Ryanair flight FR3646 left the Scottish capital at around 1.30pm this afternoon, Wednesday, September 23 and was set to land in Milan around 5pm, reports Edinburgh Live.<\/a><\/p>\n However, due to thunderstorms near Milan, Scots holidaymakers were forced to land at Bologna airport<\/a> and landed around 6.30pm.<\/p>\n Ryan said the plane landed around 120 miles from their destination but confirmed they had arranged transport for passengers to get them to their destinations.<\/p>\n A Ryanair spokesperson said: “This flight from Edinburgh to Milan Bergamo (23 Sept) diverted to Bologna due to Thunderstorms at Milan Bergamo Airport.<\/p>\n “To get passengers to their final destination as quickly as possible, we arranged for alternative transport from Bologna to Milan that night.\u201d<\/p>\n A number of flights<\/a> have been diverted already this year, with passengers landing in different cities and capitals across Europe.<\/p>\n At the start of the year, Aer Lingus flight EI3250<\/a> left Dublin at 6.36am on January 11 and was set to land in Edinburgh at 7.50am. However, the aircraft made an unexpected diversion to Newcastle.<\/p>\n
