\n This was the seventh time that the Rev Dr Leslie Milton, minister at St Andrew\u2019s High Church, has taken part in the event.\n<\/p>\n
\n This time, he took on the Mighty Stride of about 21 miles, starting at Holyrood and finishing at Murrayfield.\n<\/p>\n
\n Dr Milton, whose dog Bert joined him for the final five miles, said: \u201cThe KiltWalk is always an inspiring event and this year was no exception.\n<\/p>\n
\n “It is an amazing testament to the many people across our communities who are committed to improving the lives of people locally and throughout the world.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
\n He added: \u201cI was part of the Edinburgh KiltWalk Christian Aid team. Eight of us were taking part, participating in each of the three distances: 21 miles, 11 miles and five miles. Between us, we raised \u00a33,000.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cChristian Aid works with partners in many countries, not just to provide emergency relief, but to give skills, training and support local communities to live sustainable lives and increase family income.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cIt was really exciting to be walking alongside others supporting local and international charities.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cWe had been warned that the weather was due to take a turn for the worst but it was a perfect day for a walk \u2013 pleasantly warm without being too hot.\n<\/p>\n
\n “And the rain, when it did come, started when most walkers had already completed or were within the last couple of miles.\n<\/p>\n
