{"id":450715,"date":"2025-09-25T15:57:12","date_gmt":"2025-09-25T15:57:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/450715\/"},"modified":"2025-09-25T15:57:12","modified_gmt":"2025-09-25T15:57:12","slug":"west-midlands-accountants-crush-100k-goal-after-climbing-everest-height-seven-times-in-24-hours","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/450715\/","title":{"rendered":"West Midlands accountants crush \u00a3100k goal after climbing Everest height seven times in 24 hours"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>HIGH RAISERS: The Prime Accountants Group team with the cheque for Birmingham Children\u2019s Hospital<\/p>\n<p>A West Midlands accountancy firm has smashed its \u00a3100,000 fundraising target for Birmingham Children&#8217;s Hospital after scaling the peak of its latest challenge \u2013 climbing the height of Everest seven times in just 24 hours.<\/p>\n<p>Prime Accountants Group, which has offices in Solihull, Birmingham and Coventry, has now raised an incredible \u00a3112,000 for Birmingham Children\u2019s Hospital (BCH) through a series of annual challenges.<\/p>\n<p>This includes a total of \u00a330,000 \u2013 and counting \u2013 through its latest epic challenge, Prime vs Everest.<\/p>\n<p>The Prime team scaled 61,950 metres of elevation on five treadmills, running non-stop, at Touchwood Shopping Centre in Solihull from 3pm on Friday to 3pm on Saturday (September 19-20).<\/p>\n<p>The money raised will go to support BCH\u2019s partnership with the BAFTA-winning charity MediCinema to build a cinema inside its hospital.<\/p>\n<p>BCH says almost 20 per cent of its inpatients have to stay for up to three weeks every year, some even longer, and research has proven having access to a cinema can transform a child\u2019s physical, mental and emotional health.<\/p>\n<p>The hospital needs to raise \u00a31m to make the project a reality and has already raised more than \u00a3400,000 towards that total.<\/p>\n<p>Kerrie Given, associate director at Prime Accountants Group, said: \u201cTo see how together everyone was, how genuine the smiles were and the dancing and laughter when we realised we&#8217;d hit \u00a330,000 was just incredible.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe overwhelming feeling was pride \u2013 pride in what we do, pride in what we are and pride in the Midlands.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMany of our team brought their children along, who were there shaking their buckets and were so confident when they were talking to members of the public.<br \/>\u201cIt&#8217;s great to show them that hard work and perseverance pays off \u2013 and in this case, our hard work literally paid off.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis money is going to help families at BCH to make their stays that little bit easier, and give them special moments together. Those good memories can make everything feel better.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Morgan Davies, managing director of Prime Accountants Group, said: \u201cI am incredibly proud of everyone who took part. It\u2019s our highest ever amount raised at an individual fundraiser \u2013 only eclipsed by our golden post box challenge, which took place over three months.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are international companies that would be proud of raising the amount we did in this challenge.
