25 firefighters tackled the fire in Everglade Strand last night<\/strong><\/p>\n

London Fire Brigade says that a fire that destroyed a garden in Colindale last night was caused by a bonfire spreading out of control.<\/p>\n

Firefighters were called to the blaze in Everglade Strand shortly after 7.15 pm. Four fire engines and 25 firefighters tackled the fire\u00a0which destroyed the garden behind a row of properties, along with part of the ground floor of one property.<\/p>\n

The fire, which is believed to have been accidental, was under control by around 8.15. There were no reports of any injuries.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: \u201cWe would urge people to consider if their bonfire is necessary and to take care if you\u2019re burning waste at home or at work.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you\u2019re having a bonfire, never leave it unattended and consider your neighbours if you do decide to have a fire in your garden.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cMake sure you build it clear of buildings, garden sheds, fences and hedges and never use flammable liquids to start it or burn dangerous items such as aerosol cans.\u00a0<\/p>\n
