Police are to carry out patrols along a popular canal towpath in Greater Manchester following reports of a man ‘hiding in the bushes’.<\/p>\n
Greater Manchester Police<\/a> said officers were called to reports of the suspicious male along the path in Boothstown, Salford<\/a>. They said he was described as a tall, black male who was aged in his 20s.<\/p>\n Officers attended and searched the area but no male was found. Throughout Wednesday (April 23), the force said patrols were carried out to ‘provide reassurance’ to the public.<\/p>\n Join the Manchester Evening News WhatsApp group <\/strong>HERE<\/a><\/p>\n It comes amid a number of posts that have been shared on Facebook regarding a man acting suspiciously in the area. Greater Manchester Police urged anyone to report suspicious activity to them officially.<\/p>\n A post shared by GMP Salford on Wednesday (April 23) read: “Early this morning Police received reports of a suspicious male hiding in bushes on the canal towpath in Boothstown, he was described as a tall, black male aged in his 20\u2019s.<\/p>\n “Officers attended straight away and conducted an area search however the male was not located. No offences were committed on this occasion. Patrols of the area have continued throughout the day to provide reassurance to the public.<\/p>\n “We have noted a number of Facebook posts referencing a male acting suspiciously however have received very little information from the public.
