An iconic Scottish castle<\/a> is set to dazzle this winter as the UK\u2019s largest annual projection show, Castle of Light, returns for its sixth year with a new immersive experience inspired by elemental forces.<\/p>\n The spectacular after-dark walking trail transforms Edinburgh Castle<\/a> into a stage of light and sound, blending Scotland\u2019s fiery spirit with its icy landscapes. Visitors will step into a world where flame and frost meet, as vibrant projections and atmospheric soundscapes bring the Castle\u2019s stories to life, from volcanic origins to landscapes shaped by ice.<\/p>\n Running for seven weeks from Friday, November 21, 2025 to Sunday, January 4, 2026, Castle of Light: Fire and Ice invites guests to explore an extraordinary array of installations, interactive moments and mythical storytelling.<\/p>\n Highlights include encounters with a mighty dragon soaring across the night sky and the Ice Queen herself appearing in the Great Hall.<\/p>\n The show is the result of a collaboration between some of Scotland\u2019s top digital and visual artists, working alongside Historic Environment Scotland.<\/p>\n The installations combine cutting-edge projection<\/a> with immersive sound design to create what organisers describe as the boldest Castle of Light yet, offering a spectacle unmatched elsewhere in the UK.<\/p>\n Alastair Young, producer of Castle of Light, said: \u201cAs we enter our sixth year, we\u2019re bringing an even bolder and brighter adventure to Edinburgh Castle.<\/p>\n “Castle of Light: Fire and Ice draws on the fire that forged this ancient rock and the ice that shaped its form to tell a captivating story of resilience, transformation and wonder.<\/p>\n “Whether it\u2019s your first visit or you\u2019ve joined us before, this year\u2019s show promises to be like nothing you\u2019ve ever seen.\u201d<\/p>\n Visitors can also enjoy festive food and drink across the Castle esplanade.
