HRMC has published the details of 109 cases from around the UK, with the penalties imposed in Northern Ireland ranging from \u00a311,000 to almost \u00a350,000. <\/p>\n

In each case, the taxpayer failed to fully disclose their default at the outset of an investigation by HMRC. The details will remain published on HMRC\u2019s website for 12 months.<\/p>\n
However, the list only includes those penalised under civil procedures and does not include criminal convictions for fraud.<\/p>\n
Kevin Hubbard, HMRC\u2019s director of individuals and small business compliance, said: \u201cWe are determined to tackle the minority who deliberately refuse to pay what they owe and will pursue all available avenues to recover unpaid amounts.<\/p>\n
\u201cPublishing the names of deliberate defaulters sends a clear message that this behaviour has consequences and encourages compliance across the board.\u201d<\/p>\n
The five businesses in Northern Ireland on the new list published on Thursday are:<\/p>\n
Joseph James Elwood (trading as Titanic Vapour), e-cigarette and vape retailer, 264 Shankill Road, Belfast, tax owed for 2021 to 2022: \u00a3101,993.79, penalty \u00a348,192.06<\/p>\n
Michael McGarry (haulage) Lisdarragh Drive, Blackwatertown, Dungannon, tax owed 2023: \u00a356,456, penalty \u00a322,723.54<\/p>\n
Colm Michael Fleville (HGV driver) 38 Foxgrove, Lurgan, Craigavon, tax owed 2024: \u00a353,865, penalty \u00a324,508.57<\/p>\n
SR 3D Printing (print services) 611 The Arc, Titanic Quarter, Belfast, tax owed Sept to December 2023: \u00a329,025, penalty \u00a326,122.49<\/p>\n
