As reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/radaronline.com\/p\/prince-william-prince-harry-different-personalities-revealed-grant-harrold-the-royal-butler\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">RadarOnline<\/a>, a former royal butler named Grant Harrold, who served the Duke of Sussex and Prince of Wales\u2019 father, King Charles III, from 2004 to 2011, went on to give intriguing details about their royal life while growing up in his book, titled \u201cThe Royal Butler.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Former royal butler reflects on Prince Harry and Prince William\u2019s differing personalities<\/p>\n<p>In his book, former royal butler, 47-year-old Grant Harrold, reportedly reflected on how different <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/2025\/09\/25\/prince-harry-memoir-remarks-betrayal-prince-william-feud-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Prince Harry<\/a> and Prince William were in terms of personalities from a very young age. Per RadarOnline, the former royal butler penned, \u201cOne of the reasons I had wanted to work for Prince Charles was to be a help for his sons, William and Harry.\u201d He continued, \u201cwho were twenty-one and nineteen at the time, and it wasn\u2019t long before I met the young princess.\u201d By the \u201cyoung princess\u201d, Harrold referred to the Prince of Wales\u2019 then-girlfriend and now-wife, Kate Middleton.<\/p>\n<p>In the meantime, as reported by the news outlet, the former royal butler further wrote about the \u201cfirst impressions\u201d he got from both <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/2025\/09\/23\/prince-william-not-buying-prince-harry-charm-act\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Prince William<\/a> and Prince Harry in his book. Grant Harrold recalled from his memory of a senior butler named Fred telling him that the Prince of Wales, who was studying at the University of St Andrews at that time, had come home. He wrote, \u201cThe next thing I noticed was his voice, so deep and authoritative.\u201d He continued, \u201cWe shook hands and I said, \u2018Hi, I\u2019m Grant.\u2019 \u2018I\u2019m William, pleased to meet you,\u2019 he said.\u201d Harrold recalled asking Prince William how he would like to be addressed by him. The eldest son of King Charles said, \u201c\u201dWilliam. My name\u2019s William.\u201d\u201d The encounter was \u201cvery friendly, polite and straight to the point,\u201d added the former royal butler.<\/p>\n<p>As for his first encounter with Prince Harry, Harrold explained that it was different from his encounter with Prince William. The former royal butler recalled, \u201cI was in the kitchen one day, having a conversation with the chef.\u201d He continued, \u201cWhen someone appeared at the door and, without warning, threw a water balloon at me.\u201d He continued, \u201cPrince Harry has just arrived home, and I\u2019m getting a water balloon thrown at me.\u201d However, when the Duke of Sussex came face-to-face with the butler at that time, he apologized. \u201cI\u2019m just being a bit silly,\u201d said Prince Harry, added Harrold.
