Liverpool completed the signing of Alexander Isak on transfer deadline day, but also allowed Harvey Elliott to leave for Aston Villa.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Liverpool splashed the cash over the summer but still landed one more big deadline day deal.<\/p>\n

Alexander Isak completed his move to Anfield<\/a> and scored his first Reds goal in a 2-1 win over Southampton on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n

Isak arrived just as Liverpool sanctioned one late exit, with Harvey Elliott saying an emotional goodbye<\/a> to Anfield by joining Aston Villa.<\/p>\n

Elliott lived out his boyhood dream by playing for Liverpool, but he found first-team action difficult to come by under Arne Slot.<\/p>\n

The former Fulham wonderkid started just two Premier League games last season, and came off the bench in another 16.<\/p>\n

That just wasn\u2019t enough action for Elliott, so he has moved on to join Aston Villa on loan for the season with an obligation to buy next summer.<\/p>\n

Elliott has yet to start a Premier League game for Villa, but he is being viewed as a player who can provide a spark for a goal-shy Villa side.<\/p>\n

Speaking to TNT Sports, pundit Owen Hargreaves<\/a> even suggests that Elliott could become just as good as Martin Odegaard<\/a> in the future.<\/p>\n

The former United midfielder sees real similarities between Elliott and the Arsenal captain, with both of them being left-footed playmakers.<\/p>\n

Hargreaves believes that Elliott is \u2018fantastic\u2019 in terms of his technical ability, and is a truly \u2018fabulous\u2019 player when given the chance to play centrally.<\/p>\n

Hargreaves noted Elliott\u2019s lack of opportunities at Liverpool, but is backing him to really kick on at Villa.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think Harvey Elliott can be, eventually, a player as good as Martin Odegaard,\u201d said Hargreaves.<\/p>\n

\u201cTechnically, he\u2019s fantastic. He hasn\u2019t had the opportunities at Liverpool, obviously, because they had so many players, but I think, centrally, he\u2019s a fabulous player,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Harvey Elliott left on the bench in Aston Villa clash<\/strong><\/p>\n

Elliott is hoping to really kick on at Villa Park but Unai Emery is easing him in gradually.<\/p>\n

The 22-year-old has played 51 minutes across two substitute appearances for Villa, with his only start coming against Brentford in the Carabao Cup last week \u2013\u00a0and he scored.<\/p>\n

Elliott was still left on the bench as Villa hosted Bologna in the Europa League on Thursday night, and wasn\u2019t even introduced as a substitute.<\/p>\n
