Edinburgh Castle<\/a> is set to dazzle once again this winter as the Castle of Light returns for its sixth year with a new immersive experience inspired by elemental forces.<\/p>\n

The spectacular after-dark walking will transform the castle<\/a> into a stage of light and sound, blending Scotland\u2019s fiery spirit with its icy landscapes. Visitors will be able to watch as vibrant projections and atmospheric soundscapes bring the Castle\u2019s stories to life, from volcanic origins to landscapes shaped by ice.<\/p>\n

Running for seven weeks starting on Friday, November 21, 2025 and ending on Sunday, January 4, 2026, Castle of Light: Fire and Ice invites guests to explore an extraordinary array of installations, interactive moments and mythical storytelling.<\/p>\n

Highlights from this years show will include encounters with a mighty dragon soaring across the night sky and the Ice Queen herself appearing in the Great Hall<\/a>, reports The Daily Record.<\/a><\/p>\n

A result of collaboration, the show will highlight the work of some of Scotland\u2019s top digital and visual artists, working alongside Historic Environment Scotland.<\/p>\n

The installations combine cutting-edge projection with immersive sound design to create what organisers describe as the boldest Castle of Light yet, offering a spectacle unmatched elsewhere in the UK.<\/p>\n

Alastair Young, producer of Castle of Light, said: \u201cAs we enter our sixth year, we\u2019re bringing an even bolder and brighter adventure to Edinburgh Castle.<\/p>\n

“Castle of Light: Fire and Ice draws on the fire that forged this ancient rock and the ice that shaped its form to tell a captivating story of resilience, transformation and wonder.<\/p>\n

“Whether it\u2019s your first visit or you\u2019ve joined us before, this year\u2019s show promises to be like nothing you\u2019ve ever seen.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kit Reid, Head of Experience at Historic Environment Scotland, said: \u201cCastle of Light has become a much-loved winter tradition, attracting thousands of visitors every year.<\/p>\n

“Now in its sixth year, we\u2019re getting ready to present a completely new show that highlights both the fiery origins and the icy resilience of Scotland\u2019s most iconic landmark.<\/p>\n

“Castle of Light: Fire and Ice will transform Edinburgh Castle into an unforgettable festive experience, creating magical memories for families, friends and visitors of all ages as they\u2019re invited in to see Edinburgh Castle in a whole new light and take in the breathtaking views of the Edinburgh skyline after dark in all its festive splendour.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ticketed entry slots will run every 15 minutes between 4.30pm and 7.30pm, with last entry between 7.30pm and 7.45pm. The event closes at 9pm each night.<\/p>\n

A special reduced-capacity \u2018quiet night\u2019 on Sunday, December 7, offers a calmer experience, with softer lighting, lower sound levels and no smoke effects.<\/p>\n

Early bird adult tickets cost \u00a321.60 and are available until Tuesday, September 30, using promo code COLCM25 <\/b> at checkout.<\/p>\n

Concession rates, family tickets and discounts for Historic Scotland members are also available.<\/p>\n
