Prince William<\/strong><\/a> is opening up to Eugene Levy<\/strong><\/a> about his difficult 2024 after two of his loved ones were diagnosed with cancer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d say 2024 was the hardest year I\u2019ve ever had. You know, life is sent to test us as well, and being able to overcome that is what makes us who we are,\u201d William, 43, tells Levy in a preview clip<\/a> from an upcoming episode<\/a> of Apple TV+\u2019s The Reluctant Traveler.<\/p>\n

William\u2019s wife, Princess Kate Middleton<\/strong><\/a>, and his father, King Charles III<\/strong><\/a>, both announced they were diagnosed with cancer last year. William and Kate, also 43, share three children: Prince George<\/strong><\/a>, 12, Princess Charlotte<\/strong><\/a>, 10, and Prince Louis<\/strong><\/a>, 7.<\/p>\n

Kate announced her diagnosis<\/a> in March 2024 in a video shared on social media, describing receiving the news as a \u201chuge shock.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tPrincess Kate Middleton chose to address her ongoing cancer battle in her own time. Kate\u2019s last official public appearance before taking a break was in December 2023. One month later, Kensington Palace confirmed that Kate wouldn\u2019t be involved in any royal engagements until after April at the earliest due to a planned abdominal surgery. \u201cThe [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n

\u201cAs you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment. But, most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be OK,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

In September 2024, Kate revealed that she had completed chemotherapy<\/a> and in January, the princess said she was in remission<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Charles, meanwhile, announced he had been diagnosed<\/a> with an unspecified form of cancer in February 2024. \u201cDuring The King\u2019s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted,\u201d Buckingham Palace said in a statement at the time. \u201cSubsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHis Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties,\u201d the statement added. \u201cThroughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual.\u201d<\/p>\n

William recently invited Levy, 78, to Windsor Castle to film an episode of his popular travel program. The episode, titled \u201cLiving the Royal Life in the UK,\u201d will air Friday, October 3, on Apple TV+.<\/p>\n

In a preview clip released by the streamer on Thursday, September 25, the prince offers Levy a personal tour of Windsor Castle and quips, \u201cWe provide this service for everyone. We do personalized tours everywhere.\u201d<\/p>\n
