{"id":452371,"date":"2025-09-26T08:24:22","date_gmt":"2025-09-26T08:24:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/452371\/"},"modified":"2025-09-26T08:24:22","modified_gmt":"2025-09-26T08:24:22","slug":"community-book-pledge-aims-to-support-families-through-sophies-legacy-initiative","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/452371\/","title":{"rendered":"Community book pledge aims to support families through Sophie\u2019s Legacy initiative"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Islander, Lucy Bagshaw, has announced that she has been given permission to run a community book pledge in support of the charity, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sophieslegacy.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sophie\u2019s Legacy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>She described Sophie\u2019s Legacy as \u201ca beautiful, beautiful charity\u201d that continues Sophie\u2019s bucket list by working to make a difference nationally.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Supporting families in hospital<\/strong><br \/>The charity provides food, toiletries and other essentials to families in hospital. It also campaigns for wider changes to improve the experiences of children and parents.<\/p>\n<p>Lucy said the charity has \u201cpersonally helped me in the past as well as thousands of other families.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is a community book pledge?<\/strong><br \/>Lucy explained that a community book pledge raises money to provide books. These books will support families and children, giving them something to escape into and enjoy together.<\/p>\n<p>She added that businesses which choose to sponsor the pledge will receive a certificate to display, showing that they want to help make a change too.<\/p>\n<p>Visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/thestoryspotbookshop\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Story Spot Bookshop<\/a> on Facebook.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sophie\u2019s story<\/strong><br \/>Sophie was a young girl who died of cancer.
