{"id":452461,"date":"2025-09-26T09:18:16","date_gmt":"2025-09-26T09:18:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/452461\/"},"modified":"2025-09-26T09:18:16","modified_gmt":"2025-09-26T09:18:16","slug":"prince-williams-duchy-of-cornwall-neglected-path-complaint","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/452461\/","title":{"rendered":"Prince William&#8217;s Duchy of Cornwall neglected path complaint"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  Following a meeting on the subject, Bridstow Parish Council near Ross-on-Wye wrote to the Duchy on August 6 over the condition of the footpath and field, described as \u201ceffectively now abandoned\u201d, at Pool Mill Farm in the parish.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  And while the tenant had partially cleared the footpath at the local Duchy office\u2019s behest, a promised management plan for the field was never developed or implemented, their letter said.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Having not been grazed for some years, the field is now \u201ca sea\u201d of brambles, weeds including ragwort and dock, and \u201cdiscarded old baths\u201d, and is now \u201ca major nuisance to the local community\u201d, a \u201cblot on the landscape\u201d and potential fire risk, it claimed.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  It urged the Duchy to \u201crethink what seems to have now become an \u2018it is not our problem\u2019 approach\u201d to the farm.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Coun George Barrett said the parish council has yet to hear back from the Duchy. It did not respond when asked to comment.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The 130,000-acre Duchy is owned by the Duke of Cornwall, currently Prince William.
