A weather warning for rain has been issued by the UK’s Met Office, covering parts of Northern Ireland and Scotland.<\/p>\n
The yellow alert has been issued for the east of Northern Ireland, from a broad area beginning just outside Portrush on the North Coast and spanning most of Co Antrim<\/a> and Co Down<\/a>.<\/p>\n In Scotland, the warning area includes a significant portion of the western coast and islands, in a broad swathe running roughly from Fortwilliam to Whithorn.<\/p>\n READ MORE: NI First Minister slams proposed Brit-Card as \u2018ludicrous\u2019<\/a>READ MORE: Doctor issues Covid with ‘peculiar symptoms’ warning amid new strain<\/a><\/p>\n It comes into effect in Northern Ireland from 7am on Saturday morning and is set to remain in place until 7pm.<\/p>\n The Met Office<\/a> say there is a chance of “some flooding and travel disruption”.<\/p>\n In terms of what to expect, the forecaster says “flooding of a few homes and businesses is possible; some interruption to power supplies and other services is possible; bus and train services probably affected with journey times taking longer; spray and flooding on roads probably making journey times longer.”<\/p>\n The forecasters added: “Outbreaks of rain will move eastwards across Northern Ireland on Saturday morning, likely becoming persistent and heavy across eastern counties during the afternoon before slowly clearing.”<\/p>\n In Scotland, the warning will remain in place for a longer period of time.
