On Friday, September 26, Gill \u2013 once Reform\u2019s leader in Wales and before that an MEP for Farage\u2019s Brexit Party \u2013 pleaded guilty to eight counts of bribery relating to speeches he made in favour of Russia in the European parliament. The court was told that he had been paid to make the statements by pro-Kremlin Ukrainian Oleg Voloshyn.<\/p>\n<p>Gill, who now faces a substantial jail sentence, is a long-time ally of Farage and his guilty pleas will be a huge embarrassment to Reform\u2019s leader ahead of next year\u2019s elections to the Welsh assembly, where the party is leading in polls.<\/p>\n<p>In 2016, Farage said: \u201cI have worked with Nathan Gill over a period of years and he\u2019s been terrific, he\u2019s never, ever, let me down.
