F*** you JK Rowling you\u2019ll never stop me from peeing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The video was picked up on X by the Harry Potter author, who responded: \u201cSo vulnerable. So oppressed. So determined to break the law by continuing to invade women&#8217;s spaces.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd being cheered on by Maggie Chapman MSP of the Scottish Greens, who is one of our most enthusiastic anti-women legislators.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite calls for her to step down from her role as Deputy Convener of the EHRC and Justice Committee, Chapman &#8211; a longtime supporter of trans rights in Scotland &#8211; defiantly stood by her comments with her responsibility to \u201cstand up and represent trans people\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"916f0\" data-rm-shortcode-id=\"a69ff625433c4d8d29053474f420e230\" data-rm-shortcode-name=\"rebelmouse-image\" class=\"rm-shortcode rm-lazyloadable-image \" lazy-loadable=\"true\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns='http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg'%20viewBox='0%200%203712%202472'%3E%3C\/svg%3E\" data-runner-src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/shirley-anne-somerville.jpg\" width=\"3712\" height=\"2472\" alt=\"Shirley-Anne Somerville\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Scotland\u2019s Social Justice Secretary, Shirley-Anne Somerville, said the Scottish Government &#8216;fully accepts&#8217; the ruling of the Supreme Court<\/p>\n<p>PA<\/p>\n<p>In the closing paragraph of his letter, Dunlop KC suggests \u201cthat a fulsome and swift apology is warranted\u201d, but going further he says \u201cwe suggest that her comments are not compatible with her role as Deputy Convenor, or, arguably, her continued membership of the Committee\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Dunlop conceded that the atmosphere following the ruling of the lengthy legal battle between For Women Scotland and the Scottish Government was toxic, but even so Chapman\u2019s tirade was \u201coutrageous\u201d and constituted a breach of her duty to uphold the law.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis behaviour is irresponsible and reprehensible,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFaculty very much regrets having to write this letter. However, Ms Chapman\u2019s words have left it with no choice.
