On Tuesday, September 23, Merseyside Police received several reports that offensive graffiti had been found in areas of <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/litherland\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Litherland<\/a>, Seaforth and <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/bootle\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Bootle<\/a> overnight.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">Following CCTV inquiries, police <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/bootle\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"believe the suspects are five malesLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">believe the suspects are five males<\/a> who were dressed in all black and wore face coverings with hoods up. One of the males was on a pedal bike and the other four were on foot<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">The graffiti, which has now been removed, was <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/news\/liverpool-news\/outrage-swastikas-racist-graffiti-appears-32536497\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"sprayed at locations on Bridge RoadLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">sprayed at locations on Bridge Road<\/a> in Litherland, on buildings near the canal towpath, Seaforth and Litherland railway station, North Park, Bootle Leisure Centre and Marsh Lane.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">The horrific graffiti around parts of <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/sefton\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Sefton<\/a> has prompted a furious response from the borough&#8217;s council leader, Cllr Marion Atkinson.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">She told the <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">ECHO<\/a>: &#8220;I am extremely disturbed by this disgusting graffiti. These are hate crimes and we will be working closely with the police to work to make sure whoever did this is caught.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">Detective Inspector Keith Swift said: \u201cOur investigation is progressing and we believe the suspects in these incidents were five males. We are determined to find them and our inquiries are ongoing.\u201cThey clearly made a concerted effort to hide their identifies and we are relying on the local community, who I\u2019m sure are just as appalled as we are, to come forward with information.\u201cIf you live in the area and have any knowledge of who carried this out, let us know.
