A dad is on a mission to find his “Good Samaritan” after a package containing his lost wallet ended up on his doorstep this week. Alex Richardson, 50, from Rochdale, had been visiting Liverpool <\/a>on Saturday (September 20) with his son James Richardson, 15, for a university open day.<\/p>\n After getting off the train at Liverpool Lime Street <\/a>the dad and son “nipped into” WH Smith to buy some paracetamol as James had come down with a headache. Running late for the open day, they rushed up Brownlow Hill <\/a>to Liverpool John Moores University<\/a>, where James hopes to study medicine next year. But, when they got to the lecture hall Alex realised his wallet was missing.<\/p>\n Assuming it had “gone forever”, Alex said: “It was throwing it down with rain, I had maps in one pocket, keys, my phone in another, we were in a rush because we were late, I obviously just didn’t put my wallet back in my pocket right and I’ve dropped it.<\/p>\n “I either dropped it right outside WH Smith or on Brownlow Hill somewhere. There were thousands of football fans in the city that day, it was absolutely throwing it down, it was carnage in town. I thought there was absolutely no chance of me getting it back.<\/p>\n “We asked in WH Smith, logged it with lost property at the university but I thought it was long gone, so we got on the train back home to Rochdale and that was it.”<\/p>\n However, a package arrived addressed to Alex on Tuesday. Alex opened the mysterious package and to his complete surprise there was his wallet.<\/p>\n He said: “It was a little damp from the rain but there it was. The wallet had \u00a360 cash and all my cards, driving licence inside. Everything was still in it, including all the cash.”<\/p>\n “I couldn’t believe someone had posted it back to me, I had resigned myself to it being gone and cancelled all my cards. They’ve even paid the \u00a36 postage.”<\/p>\n Sadly, the kind stranger didn’t leave a note so Alex doesn’t know who his Good Samaritan is.
